American Double Eagle
Description
First minted in 1849, the Double Eagle is today known as the Saint-Gaudens double eagle after the American artist who designed the coin at the behest of President Roosevelt. The coins are made from 21.6 karat gold, with 900/1000 purity. They carry a nominal value of $20.
